Santo Baca, 77, of Crabtree, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at home. He was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Crabtree, a son of the late Joseph and Clara Spinelli Baca Riscinto. Santo was a retired salesman known by many as the "Candy Man". Throughout the years he worked for American Candy Company and Seaman Wholesale before retiring from Frank Fratto Wholesale. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church as well as many area social clubs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Dolly" Baca; brothers, Anthony and Joseph Baca; stepfather, John Riscinto; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Agnes Malago; brothers-in-law, Sonny and Joseph Malago; and his longtime companion, Patricia Opsitnick. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Murtha (Harry), of Greensburg, and Michelle Pignolet (Peter), of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren that he loved dearly, Kristen, Rachel and Ryan Murtha; brother, Vincent Baca; brothers-in-law, Richard and Ronald Malago; sisters-in-law, Janet Malago and Mary Baca; stepsister, Dolores Yanosko; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Santo from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Father Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating.
