Richard Varsek

Richard A. Varsek , 82, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021. He was born June 21, 1939, in Waukegan, Ill., a son of the late Stanley and Anna Taulu Varsek. After working at Brooks Fashion Store as a regional manager, Richard became a real estate agent and worked at both Prudential and Northwood Realty. He was a veteran of the Army. He was a loving man who was deeply devoted to his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Varsek. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Barbara A. Fike Varsek; three daughters, Donna Ritenour, of Greensburg, Sandra Kulsic (Chuck) and Susan Mesich (Brian), all of Jeannette; six grandchildren, Brittany Ritenour, Krystal Blake (Dan), Tyler and Kelsey Hood and Breanna and Zakary Mesich; a great-grandson, Jax Hood; an expected great-granddaughter in 2022; three siblings, Kathie Brady (Chuck), Ginny Kukla, all of Waukegan, Ill., and Duane "Dewey" Varsek (Diane), of Wildwood, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Snuggles.
