Mary Ann (McLaughlin) Shields , 79, of Greensburg, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the St. Anne Home.  She was born September 05, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Edmund V. and Madeleine Hoyle McLaughlin.  Mary Ann was a retired secretary for the State College Area School District.  Before moving back to Greensburg in 2014, Mary Ann enjoyed retirement in Carrabelle, FL.  She was an active and faithful member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lanark Village, FL, where she served as a Eucharist Minister.  She also volunteered at the Crooked River Lighthouse and the Carrabelle Branch of the Franklin County Public Library, where she was on the board, and was a supporter of the Franklin County Senior Center.  Mary Ann was an accomplished artist, a member of the Carrabelle Artist Association, and enjoyed creating wonderful artwork in her personal art studio.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Shields and a nephew, Eric McLaughlin.  She is survived by her only daughter, Debra Kanner (Randall) of Apollo; two grandchildren who she adored, Ryan and Regan Kanner; a brother, Edmund Vincent McLaughlin Jr. (Jeannette) of Kennewick, WA; a nephew, Edmund Sean McLaughlin (Lori) and their children and a niece, Amy and daughter.  Mary Ann will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially by her grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law, who were so happy to have had her living close in Greensburg during the last few years.  There will be no public viewing.  Private services for the family will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Butler.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Felix Benevolent Care Fund www.stannehome.org/donate or Parkinson's Research (PIND) www.pind.pitt.edu/donate/  Mary Ann’s family has entrusted her care to the Clement L.
