Marie Garner

Marie (Pirolo) Garner , 93, of Naperville, Ill., formerly of South Greensburg, died Friday, May 28, 2021. She was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Cuneo and Mary DeRosa Pirolo. Marie and her husband, Angelo, were the owners of the former Villa Maria Restaurant in South Greensburg, where Marie enjoyed cooking for their customers. Later, she became a cook at St. Joseph's Center in Greensburg and worked until the age of 85. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo R. Garner; a daughter-in-law, Ron's wife, Marsha Garner; and two brothers, John and James Pirolo. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Tocco (James), of Naperville, Ill.; two sons, Raymond Garner (Karen), of Jeannette, and Ronald Garner, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Justin Garner, Jason Garner (Lindsy), Angela Tocco Maino (Michael) and Patrick Garner (Kate); four great-grandchildren, Olivia Garner and Valentina, Adriana and Vincenzo Maino; two sisters, Antoinette and Rose Pirolo, both of Chicago, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Marie from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, the time of parting prayers, in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Bruno Church, South Greensburg. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Please be prepared to adhere to all current CDC guidelines.
