James Simon

James J. Simon , 70, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020.  He was born February 09, 1950, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Major James J. Simon and Margaret Ann Farrah.  Jim earned a bachelor's in business from Robert Morris and worked with Romeos and Sons inc in the collections department, and then branched off in telecommunications customer service and sales with TTEC (teletech) and retired from National City Bank.  He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era earning the rank of E5 and he served on the USS Saratoga which was decommissioned in 1994.  Jim was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, the Croatian Club of Yukon, the Elks of Scottdale, American Legion 981, VFW Post 33 and was a third degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #1480.  He had alot of people that enjoyed his company and he loved to conversate.  He was a very intelligent man that could remember anything and everything.  He was a very motivated individual and never let anything hold him down.  Even when he went through the hardest struggles he took upon himself to be the best father he could be and raise his two sons by himself after he lost his wife to alzheimers. Even going through so many health obstacles he still never gave up.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna C. Belan Simon whom he married Nov 5th. 1983; and  an infant brother, Dennis Michael Simon.  He is survived by two sons, Joseph William Simon of Pittsburgh and Mario George Simon of Greensburg; and a sister, Janice Lee Simon of Scottdale.  There will be no public viewing or services.  Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Crucible, PA.  Jim’s family has entrusted his care to the Clement L.
