Flora M. Picella, 96, of Hannastown, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Luxor, a daughter of the late Anthony and Carmela Durso Picella. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Picella; and two sisters, Rose Morris and Pasqualina Shurick. She is survived by her sister, Lucy Askins, of Saltsburg; three nephews, Frank Shurick (Marilyn), of Connecticut, Corry Morris of Hannastown and Richard Morris (Tammy), of Greensburg; three nieces, Patty Argyros (George) and Cindy Resnick (Danny), all of Saltsburg, and Donna Osterling (Ray), of North Huntingdon; great-nieces and nephews, Marco, Charis (Shawn), Michael (Kim), Rachel, Nathan, Elizabeth, Shane, Darrah, David, Ray and Pauline; several great-great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Mary Trice, of Greensburg; and her devoted neighbor, Joanne Kolbosky. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Flora’s funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Church with Father Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. Keeping with CDC guidelines, those attending the viewing and funeral are required to wear face masks.
