Daniel J. Brean, 88, of Greensburg, died Monday, May 23, 2022. He was born March 31, 1934, in Latrobe, a son of the late Daniel H. and Catherine A. Quitko Brean. Daniel was a retired quality lab technician for Gen Corp., Jeannette. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and an avid basketball player. Danny was always the life of the party! No one will ever forget the famous "coat dance" at weddings, the Steelers cheers in the '70s, the three-point shot from the corner of the court, the singing of "Here Comes the Sun" and his contagious laugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Michael and Catherine Barlock; a brother-in-law, Donald R. Barlock; and his niece and goddaughter, Denise Levy. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Rebecca A. (Barlock) Brean; daughters, Beth Brean, of Greensburg, and Amy Houk (Jerry), of Venetia; a grandson, Jacob Schwab; and nephews, Donald and David Barlock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral liturgy outside of Mass at 1 p.m. Thursday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Emma Monastery, 1001 Harvey Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601.
