Sara V. Pochedly

May 3, 1935 — November 23, 2024

Greensburg

Sara Pochedly went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was born in Indiana County on May 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Mike and Helen (Cochran) Kokolis of Homer City. Sara encompassed her life in prayer and was a woman of unwavering faith. She was a gentle soul and was quick to praise God for her blessings and hardships as well. In all situations, she gave praise to God for she believed all things work together for the good for those who love God. She was a very devoted mother and homemaker too. While raising five children, she enjoyed crocheting and baking a wide assortment of delicious pastries and eastern European foods. She retired from Westmoreland Hospital where she worked in the housekeeping department. She truly loved her job for it gave her the opportunity to clean the beds and rooms of the patients and quietly pray for their return to good health. She spent much of the time of her retirement years reading the Bible and seeking the fullness of truth that is held in God’s word. Throughout her life, she remained honest, faithful, humble and steadfast in the Lord. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by an infant son. She is survived by her 5 children, Linda Pochedly of Greensburg, Sherri Burleigh (Donny) of Texas, Mike Pochedly (Lori) of Derry, Kim Thomson (Ian) of New Zealand and Joni Humbert of Champion; grandchildren, Jeremy (Zorana), Ronnie, Colton, Sam and Max; and great- grandchildren, Milania, Alexis, Weston and Jaxson. Sara is now in the presence of her Savior and illuminated in the magnificence of His holiness and glory. The family gives a heartfelt thank you to her dedicated and compassionate caregivers Carrie and Toni; Jenny, her kind and caring beautician; and Sharon and Sonya the helpful, skillful and compassionate Hospice nurses.  A funeral service was held in the funeral home with Rev. Joseph O’Malley officiating. Interment followed in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. Arrangements by the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020 wwwpantalone.com Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
