Rose (Ross) Hoffman, 97, of New Stanton, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born July 24, 1918, in Trafford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Martinella Ross. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Rose taught third and fourth grade at North American Martyr's School in Monroeville and St. John's in Plum. She enjoyed playing bingo and watching all sports, especially the Duke Blue Devils. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Hoffman; a brother, James Ross; a sister, Dorothy Breinz; and a grandson, Matthew Hoffman. She is survived by her two sons, Richard J. Hoffman and wife, Lisa, of Greensburg, and Randall J. Hoffman and wife, Leah, of Midlothian, Va.; four grandchildren, Scott and wife, Jamie, Cory and wife, Kelly, Lacey and Elena Hoffman; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Logan, Madison and Sophia; a sister, Betty Dimoff, of Poland, Ohio; her niece Helena Kelly; and several other nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Rose from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
