Robert P. Fontanesi , 69, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, in the Presbyterian University Hospital. He was born June 26, 1947, in McKeesport, a son of the late Robert and Edith Septer Fontanesi. Bob was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, a retired sales representative for Centurion Medical Products, of Howell, Mich., and also served with the National Guard for six years. An avid competitive golfer, Bob was a longtime member of the Greensburg Country Club and proud to share his love of the game with many local students as the founder of the Tommy Smith Junior Golf Program. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Roxanne J. Grasso Fontanesi, who he had known since they were 11; his son, Brent Fontanesi, of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Ronald Fontanesi (Char), of Coraopolis, and Ken Fontanesi (Dianne), of Annapolis, Md.; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and his special friend, his boxer, Freckles. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Bob, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
