Richard M. Marshall our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend passed into God’s loving hands on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Rich was born in Dubois to the late Merle and Arvella Kessler Marshall in 1936. He graduated from Sandy High School. Richard studied Criminal Justice at Indiana University and held an associate degree in Criminology from Westmoreland County Community College.

Rich graduated from the PA State Police Academy and was assigned to Troop A. Six months later he was drafted into the US Army. He served in the 504 Military Police Company during the Vietnam Era. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to Troop A and served twenty-eight years. During his career with the PA State Police he gave drivers exams, served in the traffic detail and went to additional training in NY State, Harrisburg and Hershey, and served 16 years as a Forensic Specialist, Crime Scene Investigator. Rich retired from the PA State Police and opened a private Driving School. He also served for 16 years on the Greater Latrobe School District Board of Education.

A lifetime member of FOP Lodge 62, Youngman’s Sportsman Club, PA State Police Historical Society and Norvelt Golf League. He was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He and Helen joined other Presbyterians on 2 Pilgrimages to Scottland and Ireland, tracing the journeys of the early monks carrying Christianity across Scottland and Ireland. Rich and Helen enjoyed traveling and had many trips to the countries in Europe. They enjoyed cruises with family and friends. Rich and his sons took several hunting trips out west.

Rich is survived by his wife, Helen. They were married 63 years. Also surviving are his sons, Keith (Viola), Ken (Grace), 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who all adored him. Also surviving is his beloved adopted family, Greg and Michelle Corsi and their 2 children; special friends, the Hummel and Pyle families; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carole and Bob Poth. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Relatives and friends of Richard will be received Friday, February 06, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at noon in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601 724-837-0020. Rev. John Simpson, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758541 Topeka, KS 66675-8541.
