Peter A. Fredo , 88, of Greensburg, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at home. He was born Aug. 6, 1929, in Greensburg, a son of the late Dominick and Nancy Montagna Fredo. Pete was retired from the former General Tire Rubber Co., Jeannette. He was a very active member of the former St. Bede's Church, taking care of the grounds around the Church, and a current member of St. Bartholomew Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Patsy, Sam and Frank Fredo; and his five sisters, Suzy Falo, Betty DeFlippo, Josephine DeMarinis, Flora Tutich and Gena Scifo. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Rose Amatangelo Fredo; three sons, Vince Fredo (Debbie), of New Stanton, Rick Fredo (Tina), of Longmont, Colo., and Mark Fredo (Kirk Nelson), of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; four grandchildren, Ryan Fredo (Julie Oliver), Kaitlyn, Emiko and Peter Fredo; a great-grandson, Caden; five in-laws, Louis Amatangelo, of St. Augustine, Fla., Mary Scimmi and Dorothy Fredo, both of Greensburg, Mary Louise Fredo, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mary Amatangelo, of Bovard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Pete from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew Church with Father Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
