Pearl Gandy

Pearl H. (Russell) Gandy , 76, of Greensburg, died Friday, March 09, 2018 in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She was born September 13, 1941, in Barnwell, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Morrison Russell and Annie Mae Cave.  Pearl was a fifty-two year member of First Antioch Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess and a missionary and also sang in the church choir.   She was retired as a Dietary Aide for Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Henry Miller; a grandson, Jaylen Gandy-Jones; a brother, Bobby Russell and a step brother, Ronnie.  She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Clinton J. Gandy; four children, Adrian Gandy of Lima, OH, Karen Gandy of Greensburg, Cheryl Gandy of Pittsburgh, Tara Gandy and a special son, Jaison 'Jais' Stevens, both of Greensburg; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a twin brother, Rev. Earl Russell (Glenda) of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mary Mason of Albany, NY; five stepsiblings, Geraldine, Bobby, George, Tommy and Mae; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Pearl, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  Additional viewing will be held Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, in the First Antioch Baptist Church, 726 W.
