Patrick Mcguire

Patrick W. McGuire , 61, of Acme, died Sunday, December 25, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family, after a ten-year battle with cancer. He was born January 5, 1961, in Youngwood, a son of the late Patrick Charles and Mary Bell Cornman McGuire. He was a 1979 graduate of Hempfield High School and prior to becoming a truck driver for Northwest Logistics he had owned and operated Bruno's Pizza and Sub Shop in Youngwood, the town that he grew up in.  His love for cooking and baking for his family and friends will be missed. Patrick is survived by his childhood sweetheart from the age of sixteen and loving and devoted wife of thirty-three years, Cheryl Lynn Brown McGuire; his only son of whom he was very proud, Jacob McGuire of Towanda; loving and dedicated siblings, Daniel McGuire (Mary) of Youngwood, Kathy McGuire of Tucson, AZ, Patty Larson (Phil) of Bloomville, OH and Lisa Sondag (Mark) of Bernville; in laws, William Brown (Carol), Robert Brown and Karen Brown, all of Greensburg and Debbie Smith (Barry) of Sarnia, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews.  He will also be greatly missed by his constant companion, Razor, the last of his five beloved Rottweilers. As per Patrick’s wishes there will be no public viewing or service. A memorial service to celebrate Patrick’s life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hillman Cancer Center and Shadyside Hospital for their compassionate care during Pat's  illness.  They would also like to thank Excela Health and Hospice for their care during these last days, especially his nurse Darla as well as Christy, Julie and Jane for their excellent care.
