Patrick M. McArdle

Patrick M. McArdle, 79 of Greensburg died July 31, 2025, at home. He was born June 22, 1946, in Greensburg, the son of the late James T. McArdle and Edna (Castracane) McArdle.

He is survived by numerous Castracane and McArdle cousins and his beloved cat who he simply called “Cat”. He is also survived by his friend, Robert Russo, who cared and guided Pat through some tough medical issues. Robert’s dedication enabled Pat to enjoy his day-to-day life with laughter as well as meaningful conversation.

Cars, cats, and cigars were the loves of his life. Pat surrounded himself with them all- old vintage automobiles, litters of cats, and boxes of expensive cigars.

Pat was an academic who loved learning and leading others. When young, even though not the oldest, he would lead the cousins in creating and in performing his skits to entertain the family at all get-togethers.

He studied medicine at Harvard and West Virginia University and worked in hospitals in Pittsburgh. He was creative and loved passing on his knowledge of innovative ideas to others.

Pat was an astute entrepreneur, establishing several restaurants in the area. He loved to restore old buildings into beautiful establishments that became very successful.

The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice for their assistance and compassion and also the caregivers that helped him along the way.

As per Pat’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Pat’s life will be honored by family and friends at a later date.
