Michael B. D'Amico Sr, , 95, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at home surrounded by family. He was born July 4, 1921, in Greensburg. He was a son of the late Nicola and Anna Marie Nardora D'Amico. Prior to retirement, Michael was a machinist at Nuclear Automation Co. in Irwin. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 33 in Greensburg. He proudly served his country in World War II as a corporal in the Marine Corps. He participated in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign at Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands. From October 1945 to February 1946 he participated in the Occupation of China. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae D'Amico; a brother, James D'Amico; and four sisters, Antoinette Di Cecco, Anna Perillo, Mania Daversa and Josephine Kuhns. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Patti Kelecava and husband, Robert, of Latrobe; son, Michael B. D'Amico Jr. and wife, Linda, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Robert B. Kelecava Jr. and wife, Jessica, of Greensburg, Dominic D'Amico, of Greensburg, Bert D'Amico, of Norfolk, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Bayli; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Michael from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or VFW Post No. 33, 516 East Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601.
