Melvin Brown

Melvin D. Brown , 78, of Greensburg, died Friday, July 14, 2017, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Greensburg, a son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Baum Brown. Melvin was retired from Donegal Construction in Greensburg, and served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis. He was a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching football. He also loved training horses and playing semipro football in his younger years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Brown. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Miller Brown; two daughters, Kimberly Rubino (Jason), of Greensburg and Melissa Ciesielski (Thomas), of Unity Township; his four grandchildren, who were all very special to him, Taylor and Colin Rubino and Tommy and Ella Ciesielski; his sister, Janice Brisbine, of Greensburg; a sister in law, Carol Brown of Greensburg; two brothers-in-law, Carl Miller, of Irwin and Kenneth Miller (Judith), of Irwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Melvin from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh S., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 288 Crisswell Road, Butler, PA 16002. Melvin's family has entrusted his care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg, Natale N. Pantalone, Supervisor.
