Mary Lu George

Mary Lu (Magarrall) George, 89, of Greensburg, died Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Concordia-Weatherwood Senior Living. She was born August 05, 1936, in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late Henry James and Lucille Yeaney Magarrall.

Mary Lu graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1954, and continued her studies at Grove City University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Drama in 1958. She was active in several community theaters including Greensburg Civic Theatre, Apple Hill Theatre, and Ligonier Valley Players where she enjoyed performing on stage as well as directing. Mary Lu was also a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert E. George.

She is survived by four children, R. Keith George (Karen Louise) of Latrobe, Rebecca (Becky) Lukas (James) of Cleveland, OH, Karen Lynch (John, III) of Greensburg and Jennifer Sorenson (Ted) of Middletown, CT; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on August 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1120 Harvey Ave, Greensburg, PA 15601. Please go directly to the Church..
