New Gloucester, Maine. Formerly of Greensburg

Margaret (Peggy) Louise Taylor Pischke Thiry 95, passed away Tuesday May 20, 2025, lovingly in the presence of family in her New Gloucester, Maine residence.

She was born Margaret Louise Taylor on July 11, 1929, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to Dr. Walter R. Taylor and Elsie M. Repine.

Peggy graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School Pittsburgh PA. She married Joseph W. Pischke II. Converting to Catholicism, she found religion and her purpose. She felt God truly blessed her with the most wonderful and loving 5 children, their spouses, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. God also blessed her with her second husband Martin (Bud) Thiry and his wonderful family. Although short and sweet, Bud made her life in her words happy again.

Peggy returned to school and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Professionally she loved providing care to children with special needs. She later became a businesswoman owning and operating her own store The Baby’s Nook in Charleroi Pennsylvania.

Throughout her life Peggy was blessed with so many friends and families in her words “I don’t know what I could have done without them”. Peggy loved to read and play the game Farkle!

In her written words she stated “I will miss you all so very much but we will be together again I’m sure in a better world. See you ALL there. Love You and Thanks for a Great Life”.

She is survived by a son: Dr. Joseph W. Pischke III (Susanne) and daughters: Deborah Cidboy (Robert), Sandra MacDonald (Alexander) and daughter-in-law Cynthia Pischke. Grandchildren Tanya, Matthew, Dennis, Salvatore, Tamara, Michael, Jennifer, Jamie, Meghan, Ryan, Jason, Sean and 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Also survived by sister Connie Cafaro and brothers Robert Taylor and Richard Taylor. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, brother James F. Taylor, sister Judy Taylor, daughter Kathleen Mancuso (Jack) and son Robert Pischke.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Greensburg PA on June 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery Greensburg. A private reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clelian Heights for Exceptional Children, 135 Clelian Heights Ln, Greensburg, PA 15601, or Beacon Hospice, 245 Center St Suite 10A, Auburn, ME 04210.

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care of Peggy in her final months.
