Madeline C. Starry

Madeline C. (Frater) Starry, 82, of New Alexandria, died Friday, August 28, 2026, at home with family by her side. She was born July 16, 1944, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Josephine Muto Frater.

Madeline retired as a beautician from the former Kaufmann’s Hair Salon at Westmoreland Mall after many years of service. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and her eyes would light up whenever her grandchildren and great-grandchildren entered the room. She also had a special love for animals, especially the many dogs she cherished over the years.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph A., Starry, Jr. in 2021.

She is survived by her three children, Joseph A. Starry, III (Stacy) of Greensburg, Marcy Starry of New Alexandria and Rhonda Bates (Brian) of Crabtree; two grandchildren, Breanna Pynos (Logan) and David Bates; two great grandchildren whom she adored, Lenox and Nash and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of Madeline will be received Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.

A funeral service will be held at a time to be announced, Wednesday September 02, 2026, in the Pantalone Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, Pennsylvania.
