Lynda Jessica (Stipanovich) Zabish, 72, of Latrobe, formerly of Marietta, Ga., joined her family in heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022. She was born Aug. 25, 1950, in Greensburg, to the late Eli and Jean (Zilli) Stipanovich. She was a 1968 graduate of Hempfield High School and Point Park College with a degree in journalism. Lynda worked briefly for the Indiana Gazette and Miami Herald, then relocated to Atlanta, Ga., where she was the manager of the Little 5 Points Pub, and various restaurants in the Atlanta area. She lived in Georgia for more than 40 years. Her last employment was with Verizon as an independent contractor checking 911 sites throughout the country. Lynda had a soft voice, delicate hands, a vivid imagination and a remarkable ability to design and decorate any room in the house. As sisters, we all had a contest on who would call first to sing "Happy Birthday" or wish a "Happy New Year" to our mom or a sister. She had a zest for life until COPD and emphysema took over her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis and his son, Lee Stipanovich. We were blessed to have her move back home in 2021 so we could spend precious time with her while it lasted. She left behind sisters, Lesley and Bill Jones, of Ligonier, and Laurie and Tom Turnbull, of Latrobe; nieces and nephews, Laura Stipanovich (Kallie and Ayden), Tommy and Melissa (Griffin) Turnbull, Joshua Turnbull, Lauren and Zac Keslar (Nolan and Rori) and Courtney and Amanda Jones (Cooper, Berkley and Oakley); and numerous other aunts and cousins. The family would like to thank Loyalhanna Senior Suites and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion for their sister. Lynda loved to read, so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local library in her name. There will be no public viewing or services. Lynda's family has entrusted her care to the PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., Greensburg. For online condolences / directions, visit us at pantalone.com. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
