Leila E. (Carlson) Zuzik , 68, of Hannastown, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at home. She was born Sept. 21, 1948, in Warren, Pa., a daughter of Ruth Campbell Carlson of Greensburg, and the late Donald B. Carlson. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church. After 26 years working for Monsour Hospital as a registered nurse, she worked as a hospice nurse for six years with Heartland Hospice until retirement. Leila treasured her summer vacations to Maine with her family. She loved music, cooking and baking. The loves of her life were her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband, James V. Zuzik, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 1 of this year; three children, Jayme Kuhn (Richard), of Greensburg, Debbie Naeger (Scott), of Hannastown, and Jennifer Robb (Robert), of Crabtree; six grandchildren, Andrew and Rachel Kuhn, Blake and Lauren Naeger, and Logan and Chloe Robb; her brother, John Carlson (Lori), of Greensburg; two sisters, Nancy Beaufort, of Ligonier, and Melinda Ohler, of Grapeville; two brothers-in-law, Amil Zuzik, of Hannastown, and J. William Zuzik (Rebecca), of Greensburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Leila from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed at 10 a.m. by a funeral Mass to be celebrated in the St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Father Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. The Zuzik family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Arnold Palmer Pavilion, Excela Westmoreland 3E, and the compassionate care of Hartland Hospice.
