Lawrence T. Barish, 82, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in the Hempfield Manor. He was born May 24, 1944, in Uniontown, a son of the late George L. and Mildred C. (Bukovac) Barish.
Larry was the owner and operator of Aamco Transmissions in Greensburg from 1977-2016. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, a sponsor of Rolling Oldies Club, and was an avid golfer across the region, most recently playing in the Madison Club league. He was a lifelong lover of Pittsburgh sports, having held Steelers season tickets since 1979.
As a founding member of Hempfield Aqua Club (1985), he spent the next 15 years dedicated to supporting his daughters in their swimming careers through high school and college. He never missed a swim meet, proudly traveling across the country to root for St. Francis University and Indiana University women’s swimming.
Larry was always ready with a big smile. If you asked, he would tell you he’s “magnificently well!” with infectious optimism. Through his business ownership, volunteer work, and community involvement, Larry met so many people who loved and respected him for his genuine friendship and boundless generosity. Larry was a loving brother, husband, father, uncle, and Pap.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Donald Barish; and a sister, Valerie Williams.
Larry is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Marjorie L. 'Margie' Daniels Barish; two daughters, Ann Barish of Beechview and Amy Naugle (Greg) of Furlong; three grandchildren, Marin, Mia, and Marley Naugle; brother, Kenneth Barish, Sr. (Lillian) of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law. Vicki Barish of Apex, NC; and a niece and seven nephews.
Relatives and friends of Larry will be received Sunday from 4 to 7 PM. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM, Monday September 21, 2026, in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Everyone please go directly to the Church
Entombment will follow in Mary, Mother of Mercy Mausoleum at St. Vincent, Latrobe.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the kind and loving staff at Fresenius Kidney Care and Hempfield Manor in Greensburg, as well as the Giant Eagle of Eastgate Pharmacy Staff for their thorough and professional guidance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent Monastery or the Westmoreland Food Bank.
