June (Hedges) Anton , 92, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, Friday, Dec. 24, 2021. She was born June 23, 1929, in London, United Kingdom, a daughter of the late Frederick and Dora Perry Hedges. June was a member of Christ’s Church of Greensburg. In her younger years, she had worked for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Health in Harrisburg and later was a realtor for Northwood Realty. She was an avid golfer and a 60-year member of the Greensburg Country Club. Along with her husband, Tom, they won several championships at the Mt. Odin Golf Course. June volunteered for the American Heart Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Lil'Joe's Society of Support. In addition to golf, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Anton; daughter, Cynthia Leach; and beloved brother, Frederick Hedges. She is survived by her two daughters, Megan Anton and Wendy Sparrow and husband, Kelly, all of Greensburg; a grandson, whom she dearly loved, Thomas Anton; and her nephew, Dr. William Ayoub. The family would also like to acknowledge the Wohlin, Mansour and Loughran families as being attentive and wonderful friends of June over the years. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of June, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Christ's Church of Greensburg, 145 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601, with Father Jeff Wylie officiating. Everyone please go directly to the Church. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Masks will be required in the funeral home and Church. The family would like to thank the staff on 2D at Excela Westmoreland and her loving caregivers, Ricki Sterf and Hope Kimmel, as well as the staff of The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Greater Pittsburgh and Excela Home Care and Hospice for their compassion and excellent care.
