John Thomas Wallace, 91, of Greensburg, passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, January 08, 2026, at home. He was born April 04, 1934, in Greensburg, a son of the late John Joseph and Iva G. Myers Wallace.
John was an usher for over fifty years at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and never missed an opportunity in trying to recruit new ushers. He was one of the oldest members of the Knights of Columbus Council #1480 and had served as a Chancellor for a period of time. After retiring from Latrobe Die Casting, he drove a school bus for Laidlaw, serving the HASD. John was a proud Army veteran, having served at Fort Stewart in GA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in law, George Ouellette; son in law by love, Jim Polahar and his beloved and loyal dog, Buddy who is waiting for him in heaven.
John is survived by the love of his life, Martha J. Radocaj Wallace, whom he married 64 years ago in 1961. He is also survived by his children, Debbie Langstein (Howard) of, Rochester, NY, Sandi Wallace of Greensburg, John E. Wallace (Beth) of Stahlstown and David Wallace (Justine) of Cranberry Township; daughter by love, Kris Polahar of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Rachel Wallace (Luke Giancarlo), JD Wallace and Camille Wallace, Olivia and Ethan Langstein, Hope Ouellette and Jacob Wallace; six grandchildren by love, Mario Toniolo (Sarah), Nikki Miller (Mike), Dom Toniolo, and Jason, Dana and Luke Polahar; five great grandchildren by love, Max, Riley, Frankie, Elsie and Alice; his sister, Olive Croyle of Ormond Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of John will be received Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.
Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Monday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
The Knights of Columbus Council 1480 will hold services Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
