John Karazsia

John "Sharkey" Karazsia , 94, of Greensburg, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2018. He was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Crabtree, a son of the late John Sr. and Anna Felcon Karazsia. He was retired from Latrobe Steel and a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church in Bradenville. John served as a paratrooper during World War II in the Army while stationed in Europe, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He enjoyed watching sports on television but especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Virginia Karazsia; his daughter, Beverly Ann Karazsia; two brothers, George and Charles Karazsia; two sisters, Mary Karazsia and Ann Moser; and a great-grandson, Jack Karazsia. He is survived by his four sons, John B. Karazsia (Beverly), of Greensburg, Ind., Charles G. "Chas" Karazsia (Kathy), and Nicholas G. Karazsia (Nancy), all of Linton, Ind., and Gregory N. Karazsia (Cindy), of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren, Angela, Jessica, Jocelyn, Austin, Brianne, John, Bradley, Derrick, Megan, Zachary, Grant and Lauren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of John on Friday from noon to 1 p.m., the time of services, with the Rev. Joseph J. Borodach officiating, in the CLEMENT L.
