John Gannon

John J. Gannon , 67, of Greensburg, died Saturday, September 24, 2022.  He was born October 19, 1954, in Copiague, NY, a son of the late George and Jeanne Nordland Gannon. Prior to moving to Greensburg, John worked in the restaurant business in the New York area.  He was a trained chef and used his skills at family functions and holidays.  Weeknight meals were always worthy of Sunday suppers.  Once he and his wife relocated, he worked for several area car dealerships as a salesman.  He loved the beach and sitting poolside with his favorite Tom Clancy novels.  John enjoyed hiking in the Laurel Highlands and was always on the search for the best cup of coffee.  Family was his priority and he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James A. Martino on September 21, 2022.He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Christine M. Martino Gannon; son, Matthew Gannon of Greensburg; brothers, Michael Gannon of VA and Robert Gannon of AZ; mother-in-law, Martha A. Zelinsky Martino; sister in law, Diane Gerard (Dean), all of Greensburg and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass was held in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Inurnment followed in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
