John R. Carl, Sr.

John R. Carl, Sr., 73, of Youngwood, died Saturday, May 17, 2025, at home. He was born January 02, 1952, in Altoona, a son of the late John and Edith (Carr) Carl.

John retired as a laundry supervisor after thirty years of service at SCI of Greensburg. A devoted member of Greater Parkview Church, he found joy in simple pleasures—fishing, playing softball, and camping with his children. But above all, John cherished time spent with his grandchildren, whose laughter and love brought him great happiness. He was a loving and devoted father.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Carr, Linda Bossart and Marjorie McGee; four brothers, Jacob Barndollar, Ronald and Donald Carl and Glenn Carr and his cat, Jake.

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of thirty years, Rebecca S. 'Becky' Hayden Carl; nine children, John R. Carl, Jr. (Stacy) of Jeannette, Victoria Donaldson (Chris) of Connellsville, Lisa Williams (Dayne) of Everson, Ellsworth Carl (Stacey) of Penn, Shannon Roupe of Adamsburg, Staci Rosenbaun (Tony) of Foly, MO, Carrie Roupe of Adamsburg, Adam Roupe (Megan) of Donegal and Delores of OK; twenty grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Willoughby Adair of Greensburg; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Benji.

Relatives and friends of John will be received Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.

Additional viewing will be held Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, in the Greater Parkview Church, 103 Westminster Ave, Greensburg Bishop Carl E. Jones, Sr. celebrating.

Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greater Parkview Church.
