Joanne Long

Joanne F. (DeFloria) Long, 73, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Nov. 11, 1948, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late James and Edna Blaine DeFloria. Joanne worked as a secretary for several area churches in the Diocese of Greensburg for many years. She loved to spend time with her family and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan, especially of Kris Letang. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music, particularly the Skyliners and Bruno Mars. She will be forever remembered for her sarcasm, wit and generous, tender heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant twin sons; and her brother, James D. DeFloria. She is survived by two children, Jessica Everly (Jeff), of Pittsburgh, and Robert Long (Megan), of Greensburg; a beloved sister, Barbara Dreskler (Guy), of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Linda DeFloria, of Greensburg; two nieces, Lorraine and Natalie Dreskler; and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Joanne from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Our Lady of Grace Church. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
