James W. Summers, 88, of Greensburg, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on May 7, 2025, at Concordia Bethlen Nursing Home in Ligonier. He was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Cumberland, MD, to James Wesley Summers and Pearl Mazola Summers. James worked as a bricklayer for several years before retiring and tended bar. He was a lifetime firefighter with Fort Allen Firehall, proudly dedicating many years of service to his community. He enjoyed listening to country music, spending time with family, doing word search puzzles, visiting the winery, and, most importantly, spending time with his beloved dog, 'Andy Andrews Summers.' James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lois Summers; his children, Juliann Taylor ('Little One'), Kathleen Labor, Jack Summers, and John Summers; and eight grandchildren, Demi Taylor, Ty Taylor, Krista Sturm, Joseph Cohen, Crystal Summers, Jordan Summers, Shannon Summers, and Shawn Summers. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Nina Rose, Aleah Cohen, Brayden Sturm, Natalia Cohen, and Joseph Cohen II; and one great-great-grandchild, Easton Cohen. He was preceded in death by his son, James W. Summers Jr. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., Greensburg.
