Helene Stackewicz

Helene J. (Lawyer) Stackewicz , 74, of Greensburg, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. She was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Simpson, a daughter of the late Walter and Jennie Marcavage Lawyer. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, and while living in Greensburg, she had worked as a cashier at both Walmart and Shop N Save on Pittsburgh St. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Anthony B. Stackewicz; her only daughter, Melissa Fernandez and husband, Lazaro, of Sedona, Ariz.; a stepson, David Stackewicz and wife, Eileen, of Port Monmouth, N.J.; three sisters, Connie Appel, Rose Marie Stravinsky and Joan Gigliotti and husband, Frank; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Pepe, whom she lovingly referred to as "Pepperoni". There will be no viewing. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Helene at her funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Greensburg. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westmoreland County Humane Society, PO Box 1552, Greensburg, PA 15601.
