Helena A. Staats , 84, of Greensburg, died tragically, along with her son, in a house fire on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Helen R. Kovacs Kostelnik. She worked for various doctors' offices doing medical billing. "Dolly" enjoyed crocheting afghans, putting together historical picture albums for the family and baking and cooking for family and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Staats; two sons, Robert and David Staats; and a grandson, Bradford Staats. She is survived by her son, William Staats Sr. (Belinda), of Greensburg; four grandchildren, William Staats Jr. (Heather), Becca Boggs (Ryan), Elizabeth and Sabrina Staats; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Colton Boggs; two brothers, Joseph Kostelnik (Patricia) and Richard Kostelnik (Patricia), all of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews; and a dear cousin and friend, Denise Kovacs, of Greensburg. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Helena at 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Hill Cemetery chapel, Crabtree, with Father Justin Matro, O.S.B., officiating. Keeping with CDC guidelines, those attending the funeral are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing. Helena's family has entrusted her care to the CLEMENT L.
