Harry Thompson, Sr.

Harry W. Thompson, Sr. , 77, of New Alexandria, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at home.  He was born November 06, 1943, in Fenneltown, a son of the late John R. and Mary Emma Reese Thompson.  Until 1984, Harry was a custodian for the Greensburg School District.  He was a talented woodworker and was especially proud to have made cribs for his grandchildren and a curio cabinet and other furniture for his wife.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers and children.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Ted Thompson; and a great granddaughter, Charlie Olson.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty years, Sharon D. Flock Thompson; three sons, Harry W. Thompson, Jr. (Jennifer) of Murrysville, John E. Thompson of Latrobe and Todd L. Thompson (Katie) of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Kasey, Ashley, Alexis, Abigail, Samantha and Emily Thompson and John Olson (Brittany) and Dominic Olson; four great grandchildren, Remington, Luke, Brody and Jackson; brother, John Thompson, Jr. (Barb) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.  There will be no public viewing.  Services and interment were in Fenneltown Cemetery, New Alexandria.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association, 810 River Ave. #140, Pittsburgh, PA  15212.  Harry’s family has entrusted his care to the Clement L.
