Gilbert E. Siard , 90, of Greensburg, died Friday, July 23, 2021. He was born February 05, 1931, in Latrobe, a son of the late Gilbert L. and Aileen Geary Siard. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral where he served as an usher and as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1480. He was Transportation Director at Cathedral for the entire time the position existed. He was a retired driver for United Dairy and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Gilbert was an avid pool player, playing and winning up until the night before he fell ill. He loved all makes and models of cars from the classic to the new models, and had visited car shows in numerous different states around the country. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred June Siard in 2018; daughter and son in law, Kathleen S. and James Steffey; and two brothers, Roger and Kevin Siard. He is survived by his five children, Gilbert Edward Siard (Cheryl) of Sequim, WA, Virginia D. Gaughan (William) of Denver, NC, Andrea Siard Vaughan, Anita M. Silvis (Mark) and Tanya A. Martin (Jayson), all of Greensburg; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, William Siard (Florence) of Valencia; and a special friend, Mary Wollam of Greensburg. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Gilbert, Monday from noon until 1 p.m., the time of parting prayers, in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, at 1:30 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
