George E. Nalevanko

September 14, 1962 — April 26, 2024

Greensburg

George E. Nalevanko, 61, of Greensburg, died Friday, April 26, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.   He was born September 14, 1962, in Greensburg, a son of Thomas and Maryann Swiencki Nalevanko.  George has left us far too soon.  His light, his laughter and how he loved his family is the legacy that he leaves behind.  A funny, joyous, and caring man, his absence will be keenly felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.  George was a member of St. Bartholomew Church and the Crabtree VFD.  He was a long-time committee member for The Crabtree Open.   He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing, but more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his wife Gina.   Their marriage of 34 years was a testament to the depth of their bond, woven with threads of laughter, friendship, and devotion. Together, they embraced life's joys with infectious enthusiasm.  In Gina's company, George found not only a partner but also a kindred spirit with whom to share life's adventures, both big and small. They laughed often, loved with all their hearts, and created a family where kindness, compassion, and joy flourished abundantly.  George was fondly called 'Walt Jr.' because of his love for Walt Disney World, where he and his family visited countless times.  George’s passion for fun, travel, and creating experiences for his wife and two sons will live on in their memories and bring them comfort in the years to come.   George worked in his early years as a machinist for Hydro Carbide in Latrobe. While employed there, he was the financial secretary for the UAW Local #204.  Due to his work ethic and attention to detail, he became an auditor for the UAW International and has been employed with them for over 10 years.   He is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Nalevanko, Jr; and in-laws, Nick and Mary Jane Campitelli.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gina M. Campitelli Nalevanko who he fondly referred to as his 'lovey dovey'; two sons, Anthony Nalevanko (Taylor) and Ryan Nalevanko, all of Greensburg; brother, Mark Nalevanko (Laura) of Greensburg; sister, Annie Grohe (Kenny) of Santa Cruz, CA;  sister-in-law, Terri Williams (Jeff) of Shelocta; brother-in-law, Nick Campitelli (Julie) of Bath, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.   There will be no public viewing.   Relatives and friends are invited to join us in celebrating George’s funeral Mass to be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew Church with Fr. Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating.   Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree.  George’s family has entrusted his care to the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  For online condolences/directions, visit us at pantalone.com. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
