Genevieve (Fabiszewski) Uhrinek , 97, of Youngwood, died March 20,2022, and is reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Frank. She was born December 28, 1924, in Everson, PA, the daughter of the late John and Zofia (Deska) Fabiszewski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1983 and siblings Bernard (Wilma) Fabiszewski, Theresa (Edward) Farrell, Agnes Fabiszewski, Ted (Natalie) Fabe, and John Fabiszewski; a son in law, Marc McGraw and a great granddaughter, Cheyenne. Genevieve is survived, loved and cherished by many, including her five children; son, Dennis Uhrinek of New York, NY, daughters Maureen Cremonese (David) of Greensburg, Eileen Antus (James) of Latrobe, Sharon McGraw of Indiana, and Carol Batcheller (Steven) of Frederick, MD; eleven grandchildren, Rocco (Kara), Frank (Sara), Madison, Katie (Jeremy), Megan (Kevin), Adam (Andrea), Sara, Scott, Lauren (Rick), Megan (Mark) and Aubrey (Wes); several great grandchildren; her youngest brother Tom, for whom she always had a smile and who was always there for her, along with several nieces and nephews. Genevieve worked at Robertshaw Controls where she met her husband, Frank. She was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a member of Holy Cross Church in Youngwood and was part of the St. Francis Society. She also volunteered at the library at Holy Cross school and helped decorate and clean the Church. Family members always fondly remember Gen’s do-it-yourself attitude and her ability to give anything “the Midas touch” with some gold paint. Gen’s children have so many memories to choose from to remember their mother- waking up early to go to mass on the weekends, annual family trips to Idewild, and Sunday’s with Maureen and Dave. Family was important to Gen, and she always fostered relationships between her children into adulthood. Later in life, Gen enjoyed attending mass, being outdoors, and talking with family members. Despite being “Queen for a Day” on her 90th birthday, Gen preferred spending time with others than being the center of attention, and every year on her birthday, family members from near and far would gather in her Youngwood home to celebrate her and fill the home with family, love, and lots of food (despite growing up eating traditionally Polish food, Gen loved Italian food). A special thank you to nephews Bernard, James, Stephen, and Chris for their visits, prayers and remembering her with flowers on holidays. Genevieve loved her family and always especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren- if there was a baby, she was holding them. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Genevieve, Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral Mass to be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Cross Church, with Fr. William C. McGuirk, celebrating. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tim Leonard Cancer (TLC) Foundation, Holy Cross Church, St. Anne Home or St. Jude. Genevieve’s family has entrusted her care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg. For online condolences / directions, visit us at pantalone.com. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
