Frank J. Wass

Frank J. Wass, 94, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, May 01, 2024.  He was born December 14, 1929, in Greensburg, a son of the late Guy and Mary DeBone Wass.  Frank was a retired Pipe Fitter for the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union #354.  He was a long-time member of Our Lady of Grace Church where he faithfully served as an usher for the Sunday morning Mass for over fifty-two years and was a member of the Youthful Seniors and organized numerous bus trips for their group  He also was a member of the Cercemaggiore Association.  Frank proudly served his country as a US Marine during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the VFW Post #33 and the American Legion Post #515 of Latrobe.  He read his daily paper from front to back every day and liked being “in the know”.  Frank also enjoyed gardening, dabbling in the stock market and especially enjoyed his five trips to Italy and travelling with his wife.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne M. Rich Wass; siblings, Carmella Moffa, Louis Wass and Joan King; nephew, Lou Wass; niece, Jodi King; and great nephew, Tyler George.  He is survived by his daughter, Natalie J. Silvis; grandson, Anthony Varriano (Holly); sister, Gloria Rossi (Ron) all of Greenburg; grand dog, Hoagie; and several nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Frank, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., in the Our Lady of Grace Church.  Entombment with Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post #33 Honor Guard will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.  Frank’s family has entrusted his care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg.  For online condolences / directions, visit us at pantalone.com.
