Francine Gangle, 56, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at home, comforted by family and friends following complications of breast cancer. She was born April 11, 1959, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Frank and Thelma May (Farling) Gangle. Francine graduated from Greensburg Central Catholic High School in 1977 and the University of Pittsburgh in 1981, serving as a member of the cheerleading squads at both schools. She also earned a master's degree from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Francine was a successful and pioneering woman in the specialty steel industry, spending much of her career with Allegheny Ludlum, where she was a regional manager. Francine will be remembered always as a loving and devoted family member, companion and friend. She enjoyed life to its fullest and treasured her many close relationships with friends and unique experiences traveling the country to see family and friends and attend special events. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Harriet (Venisa), of Riverside, Calif. She is survived by her devoted life partner and best friend, Frank "Muzzy" Maruca, of Slickville; brother, Francis (Georgia), of Fredericksburg, Va.; sister, Sue Lukken (Steve), of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nephews, Francis John and Thomas Gangle; and niece, Dorothy Stevenson. Francine will be deeply missed by her three beloved canine companions, Sammy, Frankie and Sissy. The family would like to thank caregivers from ViaQuest Hospice for their compassionate care during Francine's final days.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Francine from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Pantalone Funeral Home, with Pastor Craig Hess officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Union Cemetery, Delmont. Francine's family has entrusted her care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg.
