Ellen Lynne Mitchell

Ellen Lynne (Terry) Mitchell, 83, of Greensburg, died Friday, September 18, 2026, in St. Anne Home. She was born October 22, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of the late Jack Edward and Frances Ellen Clark Terry.

Ellen graduated from high school in Anchorage, AK, and went on to graduate with an English Literature degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. She was a homemaker most of her life but thoroughly enjoyed her time as a librarian at Lincoln Grade School in Corona, CA, for a few years. She was devoted to her husband and her sons and always made sure their home was comfortable when having to move to various states for her husband's career. They lived for a time in Missouri, California, New York, Iowa and finally settled in Pennsylvania. She loved the Golden Retrievers that the family had over the years, including the late Peaches, Katie and Missy, and now leaves behind Holly to miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul E. Terry.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty years, John W. Mitchell, Jr.; her two sons, Mark W. Mitchell of Downey, CA and Matthew T. Mitchell of Placentia, CA; her brother, Jack E. Terry (Pam) of Eugene, OR and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of Ellen will be received Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:30 AM, until the time of funeral service at 11:30 AM in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601 724-837-0020.

Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
