Donald F. "Woody" Wood , 84, of Crabtree, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Yukon, a son of the late Benjamin and Charlotte King Wood. Woody spent most of his life in Crabtree, where he is well known to all. Woody served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He was a lifetime member of Crabtree Volunteer Fire Department, Old Crabtree Sportman's Club, Lloydsville Fire Department, and Hannastown Fire Department. Woody was an avid golfer, great dancer and a volunteer his whole life. He always had a smile, hug and kiss for all. Woody is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia McMahon Wood; daughters, Margie Hockenberry (Scott), and Mary Jo Dalton (Scott Rebtoy); his son, Robert Wood; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Demase (Jaclyn), Tommy DeMase, Cody DeMase (Tiffany), Andrea Dalton (Joel), Samantha Dalton (Andrew), and Rhys Hockenberry; his great-grandchildren, Vinnie DeMase, Eva Rose DeMase, Noah DeMase, Bentley DeMase and Mason Dalton; his sister, Marge Javor; and his brother, George Wood. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia DeMase; his brothers, Charles, Sam and John; and his sisters, Kay, Elsie, Charlotte, Rose and Anna Mae. The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Loyalhanna Care Center and staff who loved him as well. Also, thanks to Heartland Hospice for getting us through this time. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Woody from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, 2538 US Route 119, Crabtree, PA 15621. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Crabtree Fire Department, St. Bartholomew's or charity of choice.
