Dennis S. Shilobod

Dennis S. Shilobod, 85, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Mt. View Memory Care Center. He was born June 23, 1940, in Pleasant Unity, Pennsylvania United States, a son of the late Vincent and Caroline Stanec Shilobod.

Dennis was a graduate of Hurst High School and then attended St. Vincent College on an academic scholarship, majoring in Mathematics. He finished his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 1962 and obtained his Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering at Penn State University in 1965. After graduation he worked for the Peace Corp, travelling to Peru where he fell in love with the country and their culture. He visited the country on several occasions, taking his daughters with him at times. Upon returning to the US, Dennis worked for Gulf Oil in California for a time before returning back to western PA. At that time, he decided to obtain his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1971. He was a partner with a law firm in Pittsburgh and then transitioned to private practice in Greensburg in the 1990's.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine Wilson, Eleanor Stone and Margaret Shilobod; and two brothers, Leonard and Raymond Shilobod.

He is survived by his three daughters, Mia J. Shilobod of Maidsville, WV, Jennifer C. Nelson of Bay Shore, NY and Nika A. Shilobod of Plymouth, UK; two sisters, Marlene Richter (Robert) of Newtown Square and Nancy Brown of Reston, VA; two brothers, Donald Shilobod (Evelyn) of Ligonier and Vincent Shilobod (Kim) of SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of Dennis will be received Saturday October 25, 2025, from 4 p.m. until the time moments of reflection at 7:30 PM in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601 724-837-0020.
