Deborah Spina

March 28, 1948 — March 20, 2022

Mt. Pleasant

Deborah Joyce (Kozinko) Spina ,73, of Mt. Pleasant, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born March 28, 1948, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Nelda Gross Kozinko. She was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School, class of 1966, and received her nursing degree from WCCC. Deborah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she was happiest when they were all together. She was so proud of her family. Deborah was a member of Norvelt Union Church and loved her church family as well. She enjoyed singing in the choir and directing plays, as well as heading up the women's ministry. She had a heart for others and her main goal in life was sharing God's love to those around her. Her warmth and smile were felt by many. Her gifts of drama and creativity were portrayed through many church productions over the years. Along with her husband, their vision for the production of The Passion of Our Lord, has drawn many people to God, and is still ministering to many this day. Deborah was a school nurse, retiring from Hempfield School District. She left a positive impact on many children throughout the years. She is survived by the love of her life, Michael Spina; daughters, Erin Spina-Kuhn (Christopher), of Greensburg, Brandy Cataldo (Anthony) and Bethany Macak (Justin), all of Pittsburgh; grandson, Vaughn Japalucci; sister Cynthia Mull, of Latrobe; two brothers, Nicholas Kozinko (Raeann), of Greensburg, and Stephen Kozinko (Anita), of Jeannette. She will also be very missed by her two fur babies, Ringo and Jasper Lee, who were wonderful companions to her. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Deborah from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W.
