Charlotte Kanala

Charlotte M. (Barlock) Kanala , 84, of Crabtree, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2022. She was born Dec. 19, 1937, in Whitney, a daughter of the late Stephen and Martha Oshnock Barlock. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. In addition to working in the Greensburg Salem High School and Metzgar cafeterias, Charlotte also worked in the kitchen at Carbone's. Charlotte was a loving mother and always wanted her family at the table. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and you never left her home hungry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Kanala; son, Vincent J. Kanala; daughter, Kathy Nicholson; and sister, Patricia Watkins. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Kanala (Robin), of Latrobe, and Michael Kanala (Dan Halloran), of Clinton, Mass.; two grandchildren, Casey T. Kanala (Andy Craig) and Kimberly Kintigh (John); a daughter-in-law, Linda Kanala; and several nieces and nephews. Per the family's request, there will be no public viewing or services. The family would like to thank the staff at Ligonier Gardens, Med Staffers and Excela Home Health for the care and compassion shown to their mother.
