Charles R. "Buckey" Kaylor

Charles R. “Buckey” Kaylor, 88, of Greensburg, died Thursday, March 21, 2024.  He was born August 31, 1935, in Crabtree, a son of the late Robert and Catherine Brown Kaylor.  He was a retired Director of Linen Services for Excela Health Latrobe Hospital and a Veteran of the US Army.  'Buckey' was a member of St. Bartholomew Church and a social member of the Crabtree VFD.  He was also a member and past president of the NALM, and a member of the American Legion Post #653 of South Fork where he served as Finance officer for several years.   He was an avid golfer and after retiring from the hospital, worked as a ranger at Cherry Creek until the course was closed.  From humble beginnings came a man of great stature and integrity.  Working alongside his family, he learned the value of hard work which served him well and he instilled in others.  When his Nation called, he served honorably.  The King of Kool.  Becoming a leader in all his endeavors with many followers and many who sought his wisdom and guidance.  The consummate perfectionist with never anything out of place.  There is not a place on this earth that has not heard of or known Buckey Kaylor.  A truly great man has gone to his eternal rest…go forth, rest peacefully, we have it from here.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Helen Jeannine Stiffler Kaylor; and a sister, Joan Marsili.  He is survived by his four children, Charlotte R. Carrozza (Mike) of Blairsville, Jeffrey D. Kaylor of South Fork, Gregory S. Kaylor (Sharon) of Latrobe and Michelle R. Cairns (Rick) of Greensburg; eight grandchildren, Corey Carrozza (Samantha), Sarah Baker (Alex), Gordon Kaylor (Robin), Madison Kaylor (fiance Shane Provance), Sydney Kaylor and Lauryn, Ian and Nicky Cairns; two great grandchildren, Melody and Zephyr Carrozza; three sisters, Debbie Lindsey (George) of Latrobe, Joyce Mesich (Tom) of Greensburg and Carole Giron (Rich) of Greensburg; a brother in law, Rico Marsili of Greensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Buckey, Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Fr. Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating.  Everyone please go directly to the Church.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bartholomew Church, P.O.
