Betty Jo (Andrews) Shaffer, 76, formally of Greensburg, died Friday, May 01, 2026, in Hampton VA. She was born April 09, 1950, in New Eagle Boro, PA, a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Lavetta S. Jones Andrews.
She Proudly Served from 1975-1987 and a Honorably Discharged Staff Seargent from the United States Army Reserve 1004th General Supply Co in Greensburg PA. Betty Jo retired from the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Greensburg after a long-time career as their Administrative Secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fourteen siblings, Paul, Clarence, William, Kenneth, Richard, Barbara DaDamo, Mary Alice Griffith, Kathryn Meinhold, Clara DiAntonio, Edna Wolfe, Dorothy Andrews, Baby Boy Andrews, Peggy Hill and Bobby (Betty Jo's twin brother).
She is survived by her six children, Michelle Williams (Robert), Stacey Patrick (Michael), Angela Shaffer, Brenda Shiring (Charles), Genevieve Chirdon (William) and James T. Shaffer; twelve grandchildren, Sean, Robert III (Brandi) and Brett Williams, Shana Hoover (Nathan), Thomas McLaughlin (Emily), Dakota Everett (Vincent Piccar, Jr.), Brant Sullenberger, Charles Shiring, Carri Jo Duran (Louis), Joseph Chirdon, Megan Shaffer (Charles) and Genevieve Burgess (Joshua); fifteen great grandchildren, Alexis, Sean Jr., Michelle, Isabella, Robert IV, Aria, Lilah, Ava, Callahan, Ellis, Vincent III, Evalina, Christian, Tyler and Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of Betty will be received Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday May 07, 2026, in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
