Alice Ann Templeton

Dec 11, 1942 — Sep 8, 2026

Greensburg

Alice Ann (Evans) Templeton, 83, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, September 08, 2026, surrounded by her loving and loyal family. She was born December 11, 1942, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn Reffner Evans.

Alice was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg. She received her teaching degree from California University of Pennsylvania and her master’s degree from West Virginia University. She began her teaching career with the Gateway School District. After starting her family, she returned to the classroom with the Hempfield Area School District, where she primarily taught kindergarten at Maxwell Elementary. Even up until the end, no matter where Alice went, she always recognized former students and knew them by name. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Bammie.” She loved attending their sporting events and school activities. Near and far, Bammie was their biggest fan. She treasured spending time with family and friends. Some of her fondest memories were from her time spent on the lake in Muskoka and the shores of the Carolinas. Alice was a selfless and caring person who had a special way of making those around her feel comfortable and at ease.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Keith 'JK' Templeton Sr. in 2011 and an infant brother, David Evans.

She is survived by her children, Becky Smillie (John) of Greensburg, Jim Templeton (Stacey) of Murrysville and Amy Templeton of Greensburg; her beloved grandchildren, Alex and Emma Smillie and James and Livi Templeton; many cousins and friends and let us not forget her treasured granddogs, Lola and Archie.

Relatives and friends of Alice will be received Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg with Rev. Dr. Martin R. Ankrum officiating. Please go directly to the Church.
