Welcome to the memorial page for

Edward Graham

March 26, 1934 ~ March 30, 2017 (age 83)

Edward Graham, 83, of Greensburg, son of the late Eliza Jane Evans Graham and Lawrence Graham, passed away at his home, Kildonan Farm, Thursday, March 30, 2017. Ed was born March 26, 1934, in Winnipeg, Canada. His farming family moved to the town of Michigan, North Dakota, when he was a boy. He left North Dakota to serve in the Army in Korea. After earning an honorable discharge in 1953, he attended college, graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Business Economics. Edward Graham wanted to be remembered as a stockman, plantsman and salesman. His first career was as a salesman for Commerce Clearing House in the greater Pittsburgh region. His work included providing law firms and certified public accountants with up-to-date law, tax and accounting books. In his second career, Ed became a stockman. A lifelong connoisseur of sheep and cattle, he leased farmland in Torrance before purchasing the property in Greensburg, which he renamed Kildonan Farm after the area in Winnipeg where he was born. He raised Angus cattle and English Dorset sheep. He joined the Westmoreland Cattleman's Association and served as the Association's secretary for 25 years. In the early 1990s, Ed began courting Holly O'Donnell, a Pittsburgh native living in Mt. Pleasant. They were married in 1993. The two honeymooned in the Chesapeake Bay area, a region to which they regularly returned for vacation and to visit the area's cattle farms. Ed was a student of business and politics who read history and biography -- especially the history of World War II and Nazi Germany. An avid follower of current affairs and the stock market, he formed well-considered judgments of the world and held forth with friends and neighbors. But while opinionated, he was not one to force his opinions on others; he enjoyed a good debate as much as a good joke or story. Ed was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew Parish church. Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, William and George. He is survived by his wife, Holly; sister, Madeline Fryer; sister-in-law, Mary Grace O'Donnell; and a loving family. This includes his nieces and nephews, Jami Camburn (Eric), Dennis Fryer (Bing), Edward Fryer, Anne Graham (Steve Egyhazi), Jennifer Graham, Kate Graham (Gordon Mayer), Tim Graham (Liz), Laura Verheaghe (Andy) and their children, Lorin and Connor Camburn, Sean and Neil Egyhazi, Dennis, Caleb, and Elizabeth Fryer, Josephine, Warren and Luvia Fryer, Hannah, Sam and Joseph Graham, Max and Georgia Mayer, and Tibult, Holden and Zoe Verheaghe. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Ed from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020.
